The artist Clara Oppel invites you to explore the urban environment with your sense of hearing on a sound walk. With our eyes closed and guided by the artist, we switch our bodies and especially our ears on reception and immerse ourselves in the world of sounds. Above, below and around us, the sounds leave their traces. In the interplay between sensory overload (city noise) and orientation, we playfully search for natural noises and artificial sounds. A bird approaches, flies past, and then flies away in the hazy city air. We can perceive the auratic radiance of the plant world, the movements of insects in ponds, the slow flow of water along the banks of the Mur and much more.

The blind walk meanders through alleyways and streets and also leads to one of the places where the artist collected her ground recordings for the exhibition contribution ‘Mother Earth’, the monastery garden at the Minorites, and provides acoustic samples on site.

In this way, the sound walk brings home what it means to live through the ear, the different effects of places, the times of nature, intuitive reactions, etc.
